TravelJoy review · July 2026
TravelJoy, reviewed by people who live in it.
Tripkit's assistants work in TravelJoy every working day, on behalf of the advisors who subscribe to it. This is the review we'd want before paying for it: real pricing including the payment fees, module scores, and where it isn't the right tool.
The best CRM-and-payments desk a solo advisor can buy, at the category's lowest entry price — with group booking tools that punch far above the fee. The honest limits: itinerary output trails every design-led competitor, Starter is a gated on-ramp rather than a plan to live on, and booking inventory stays in your other tools.
Disclosure: Tripkit sells done-for-you itinerary building and our assistants use TravelJoy daily on advisors' behalf. We have no affiliate relationship with TravelJoy and earn nothing if you subscribe — or don't.
The 30-second version
What TravelJoy is
TravelJoy is a CRM-first platform for travel advisors — used by thousands of travel pros by its own count — that bundles client and task management, intake forms, compliant credit-card authorizations, direct payments and invoicing, branded proposals and itineraries, group booking management, and (on Pro) automations and AI assistance. It approaches the desk from the business-operations end, where Travefy and AXUS approach it from the itinerary end.
As of July 2026: Starter $19/month (12 trips/year, no automations/groups/team, 5% + 30¢ card fees) and Pro $39/month or $32 annual (unlimited, all features, 3.5% + 30¢ cards, 1.5% ACH), with a 7-day trial and 30-day money-back guarantee — current pricing here.
Module by module
The scorecard
CRM & pipeline
4.6 / 5The heart of the product: clients, trips, tasks and communication in one hub that a solo advisor actually keeps up to date because it's fast. This is the tool advisors mean when they say TravelJoy 'runs my business' — the itinerary is a feature; the CRM is the product.
Forms & payments
4.7 / 5Compliant credit-card authorization forms, secure direct payments and invoicing that clients complete without hand-holding. Note the fee structure does real work in plan choice: Starter pays 5% + 30¢ per card transaction, Pro pays 3.5% + 30¢ (1.5% ACH) — at any volume, the fee gap funds the Pro upgrade by itself.
Itinerary builder
4.0 / 5Branded proposals and itineraries that are clean and perfectly serviceable — and a clear notch below Travefy's polish, two below AXUS or Safari Portal's document quality. If the itinerary is your product's face, this is the module that sends you elsewhere.
Group bookings
4.5 / 5Room blocks, per-traveler payments and group management that genuinely handle the chaos of a destination wedding or group cruise. One of the strongest group workflows at any price in this category — Pro plan only.
Automations & AI
4.2 / 5Recurring-email automation, task triggers and AI assistance take real repetition off the desk — but all of it is gated to Pro. Starter is deliberately manual: no automations, no groups, no team members.
Value
4.6 / 5$19/month (capped at 12 trips a year) is the cheapest real entry point in advisor software, and Pro at $39 — $32 annual — undercuts Travefy Core while including group tools. The catch is above: Starter's payment fees and feature gates make it a trial run, not a home.
Not just our opinion
What other reviewers say
TravelJoy rates consistently high on Trustpilot and collects substantive advisor feedback on Host Agency Reviews; its G2 and Capterra footprints are thinner, as with most trade-distributed advisor tools. Praise clusters on the time-saving CRM, easy payments and responsive support — the recorded criticisms are refund-window strictness and the gaps this review scores lowest: itinerary polish and Starter's feature gates.
Where it earns the fee
- CRM a solo advisor actually maintains — fast, simple, complete
- Compliant card-authorization forms and direct payments clients finish alone
- Best-in-class group booking workflow (Pro)
- Cheapest entry price in the category: $19/mo, 7-day trial, 30-day money-back
- Pro at $32–39/mo undercuts Travefy while adding groups and automations
Where it falls short
- Itinerary output trails Travefy, AXUS and Safari Portal noticeably
- Starter is heavily gated: 12 trips/yr, no automations, groups or team, 5% card fees
- No GDS or booking inventory — searching and ticketing stay in other tools
- Trustpilot threads note strict refund windows outside the 30-day guarantee
The honest cut
Who should get it — and who shouldn't
Get itif you're a solo advisor whose day is client follow-ups, forms, payments and the occasional group block — Pro at $32–39 replaces a CRM, a forms tool and a payment processor at once, and the 7-day trial plus money-back guarantee make the evaluation nearly risk-free.
Skip itif your clients buy on the strength of the itinerary document (Travefy, AXUS or Safari Portal territory), you run a host agency needing commission machinery (Tern's lane), or you expected booking inventory in the tool — the alternatives below map to each.

TravelJoy review FAQ
Still deciding? Fair.
How much does TravelJoy cost?
As of July 2026: Starter is $19/month, capped at 12 trips a year with no automations, group bookings or team members, and 5% + 30¢ card fees (3% ACH). Pro is $39/month or $32 billed annually with unlimited trips, AI, automations, groups and team members, at 3.5% + 30¢ card fees (1.5% ACH). There's a 7-day free trial with no card and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Check traveljoy.com for current numbers.
Is TravelJoy's Starter plan worth it?
As an on-ramp, yes; as a destination, rarely. The 12-trip annual cap fits only the lightest part-time desks, and the payment-fee gap versus Pro (5% vs 3.5% on cards) means that once you process a few thousand dollars a month, Pro effectively pays for itself. Treat Starter as an extended trial with real clients.
Does TravelJoy book flights and hotels?
It isn't a GDS or inventory marketplace — you search and book in your usual channels, then manage the client, payments and trip in TravelJoy. It does offer in-platform booking for some hotels, activities and insurance, but ticketing workflows stay in your existing tools.
TravelJoy vs Travefy — which should I pick?
They approach the desk from opposite ends. TravelJoy leads with CRM, payments and groups, with adequate itineraries; Travefy leads with the itinerary builder and website, with an adequate CRM. Pick by which document your business runs on: the client pipeline (TravelJoy) or the client-facing itinerary (Travefy).
Where can I read verified TravelJoy reviews?
TravelJoy rates consistently high on Trustpilot and has substantive advisor reviews on Host Agency Reviews, with praise clustering on the time-saving CRM and support. Its G2 and Capterra footprints are thinner. Recurring criticisms are the ones in this review: itinerary polish, Starter's gates, and refund-window strictness.
